More than 100,000 media for all ages and tastes are presented by the Medienhaus am See on three levels.

You need a customer ID card to be able to borrow items from the media center. You will receive this upon presentation of a valid ID card or passport.
Children and young people up to the age of 16 require a declaration of consent from their parents or legal guardians in addition to their ID card or student ID card.
If you lose your customer ID card, please notify us immediately, as well as any change of address or name. Please use our contact form for this purpose.
Use of the Medienhaus is free of charge for children and young people up to their 21st birthday and Hartz IV recipients. Adults can choose which tariff they want to use when they register.
- Adults over the age of 21 pay optionally:
- 4 euros for a period of four weeks
- 17 euros for a period of twelve months
- 10 euros for a partner card to an existing card
For certain media, an additional lending fee is charged to all users. This also applies to renewals. All users pay a 2 Euro lending fee for bestsellers, DVDs and console games.
Any fees incurred must be paid within four weeks at the media centre or by bank transfer. Our bank details.
- Books, audio books, music CDs, non-fiction DVDs, software, maps, board games: four weeks
- E-books: 21 days
- Bestsellers, magazines, console games and seasonal media: two weeks
- Children's films and feature films, music DVDs, must-see DVDs: one week
- Tonies: two weeks
The loan periods of media can be extended up to two times, as long as they are not pre-booked by other customers.
In the case of media for which a fee is charged (DVDs and console games), the loan fee must be paid again. Renewal is not possible online.
Bestsellers cannot be renewed.
You can renew at any time via My Account in the media catalogue or by telephone 07541 203-3500 (Tuesday to Friday 10 am to 7 pm and Saturday 10 am to 4 pm).
You can reserve borrowed media in the media catalogue.
To do this, click on the desired borrowed item in WebOpac. Then click on the button "Book pre-order". Now enter your customer number and password in the mask.
A processing fee of one euro will be charged for the reservation.
You will receive written notification (by post or e-mail) as soon as the item is available for you. The item must then be collected from us within two weeks.
Under My Account you can see at any time how many books you have reserved, whether they are available in the meantime or delete a reservation.
